About the course
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the printing sector of the print industry with individuals who have attained appropriate capabilities and competencies to work in the industry as a skilled printer without supervision.
The qualification is designed for people who are working as printers' assistants in the print industry and who wish to progress through a formal programme of training to higher level complex print production in one of the areas of sheet-fed printing, reel-fed printing, screen printing, dry offset printing, or digital print processes.
It recognises knowledge and skills that will support: competent job performance; the future introduction of new technologies within the sector; and further personal up-skilling in the printing workplace, particularly in areas such as production training and supervision.
This level four qualification has a pre-requisite of New Zealand Certificate in Print (Level 3) [Ref: 1822] and provides a pathway to qualifications in management.
