New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills

This qualification is intended to assist people engaging or re-engaging with learning to prepare them for further learning and employment.

It recognises the importance of core capabilities such as confidence, basic knowledge and skills, and literacy and numeracy, in a range of simple and structured contexts.

The Kokiri Training Centre is a NZQA accredited private training provider delivering nationally recognised unit standards and National Certificate programmes. We have been providing quality tertiary training to the Dunedin community for over 25 years. We are a non-profit kaupapa Maori organisation and now the only Maori training provider in Otago. We have a long history of working effectively with students who have struggled to succeed elsewhere. We have strong networks including good working relationships with Work and Income New Zealand, Youth Justice, Child Youth and Family and the Maori community. We offer a range of training including Chef Training, Employment skills, Foundation in Hospitality (Level 1), Computing, Small Business Management and Money Management.
