Te Taketake Diploma in Applied Addictions Counselling (Level 7)

The overall objective Te Taketake is to produce graduates who are ready to take up a professional role as demanded by the mental health and addictions sector. Graduates of Te Taketake are therefore able to work independently to provide both assessments and treatment services. The knowledge and skill demonstrated by graduates of a Level 7 diploma is that which is accepted for membership of DAPAANZ, the relevant professional body for addictions practitioners.

Moana House is a well-established residential therapeutic community for adult male offenders who want to change their lives. Many of our residents may also have a history of alcohol and/or drug abuse. We wish to provide a supportive family environment and a safe place to change.
