Drone Pilot Agricultural Rating
Course details
About the course
The Agricultural Rating qualifies drone pilots for spray and fertiliser application across the agricultural, horticultural and pest control sectors, including bait dropping. DroneTrust can take you from your first pilot certificate through to a fully rated agricultural operator.
If you already hold the qualifications leading up to it, you can take the Ag Rating assessment on its own.
Starting from scratch? The full Ag Pilot Pathway builds you up step by step. Expect it to take 10-12 months, including consolidation training and assessments.
The full Ag Pilot Pathway covers:
- Drone Pilot Certification (Part 102)
- UAOC induction and Operational Competency Assessment (OCA)
- Exposition writing for your UAOC application
- Chemical Rating
- Drone survey and type rating
- Autonomous flight planning
- Practical flight training
- Supervised and unsupervised flight experience
- The Ag Rating practical assessment
Because pilots arrive with different experience, cost and time to completion vary. We'll help you map out exactly which steps you need.
You can start any time. The theory parts of the pathway are online, and practical training and assessments are booked with an examiner as you go.
Not sure which steps you need? Hit Send enquiry and we'll map out your pathway with you. Already hold the prerequisites? Use the Provider's course page link below to buy the Ag Rating assessment directly from our website.
Entry requirements
For the Ag Rating assessment on its own, you'll need:
- A Part 102 Pilot Certificate
- To be flying under a Part 102 UAOC, with a current OCA
- A Chemical Rating
If you don't hold these yet, the Ag Pilot Pathway includes them. Examiner travel costs, UAOC application costs and CAA processing fees are not included.
