About the course
Through Cavalli College’s blended study modes of learning, including online access, face-to-face and practice-based classroom teaching experiences, along with our unique student support, you will:
- Build authentic, culturally connected peer relationships with clients and whānau
- Demonstrate self-awareness and practise within ethical and professional boundaries
- Use a strengths-based approach to support the holistic wellbeing of self and others
- Develop hope, resilience, mana, self-determination and autonomy in clients to plan and progress their goals and aspirations
- Find employment in a peer support role in a range of settings such as mental health, addiction, disability, or other significant health conditions
- Use your lived experience to support the sustainable living of others with similar experience
- Build on your own recovery journey
Entry requirements
- Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old to commence the programme.
- Applicants must provide evidence of lived experience such as mental health, addiction, disability or a significant health condition and aspire to support others with similar experience.
- All domestic applicants for whom English is an additional language and te reo Māori is not the first language must provide evidence of meeting English language requirements according to Rule 22 of the NZQA Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2025 for a level 4 programme.
