Are you a health professional, working in the health or wellbeing sector, or do you hold a degree and want to broaden your knowledge of health and rehabilitation in Aotearoa New Zealand?
The Graduate Diploma in Health and Rehabilitation Studies provides advanced knowledge of contemporary health and rehabilitation practice, preparing graduates for employment across rehabilitation, disability, aged care, palliative care and wider health and wellbeing settings.
You'll explore health from individual, whānau and community perspectives while developing specialist knowledge in:
rehabilitation palliative and end-of-life care health of the older person population health Māori and Indigenous health and wellbeing
Throughout the course you'll examine professional practice within the Aotearoa New Zealand health sector, including ethics, legislation, cultural safety and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You'll also develop skills in research and evidence-informed practice, enabling you to critically evaluate research and apply evidence to contemporary healthcare practice.
This qualification provides a pathway to postgraduate study as well as employment across rehabilitation, disability, aged care, palliative care and broader health and wellbeing services.
Please note: This qualification does not lead to New Zealand nursing registration.
Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive the award of:

Entry requirements
- An undergraduate degree, OR
- A Level 6 Diploma or degree in a subject relating to Health or Science, OR
- Be able to demonstrate equivalent practical, professional or educational experience. This must be evidenced through the submission of a CV detailing relevant work experience and professional achievements.
