About the course

Discover the joy of making music while building confidence, creativity, and community connections. This engaging and practical course is designed for people who want to learn and play the ukulele in community settings, recreational groups, and community development initiatives.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to develop your existing skills, you'll gain a solid foundation in ukulele through playing a repertoire of popular, well-known songs.

You will also explore essential music theory, terminology, chords, and playing techniques, while experiencing the positive impact music can have on wellbeing, social connection, and group engagement.

By the end of the course, learners will have developed the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to use music as a tool for community participation, group activities, personal development, and opportunities relating to work, small business, or career transition.

Entry requirements

You must be 16 years old or over and not attending high school.
