About the course
This foundational course introduces students to industrial construction, highlighting the key differences from domestic sewing techniques in speed, precision, and machinery.
Students will become familiar with a broad range of industrial machines that are used for manufacturing in the fashion industry.
Through guided exercises, students will build basic sewing skills and construct samples using professional industry methods and finishes. The course has emphasis on precision, speed, and the use of specialised machinery to prepare students for production-level garment development.
Workroom safety, construction terminology, industry techniques and machine maintenance are all included in this course.
Entry requirements
You must be 16 years old or over and not attending high school.
