About the course
Do you want a career in the New Zealand Police? Not sure if you have the essential skills to make the grade? Get a head start on meeting the requirements you need to get accepted into the Royal New Zealand Police College. You will also develop the self-management skills you need to succeed in your training to become a police officer. Our classrooms are supportive learning environments that will help you become more confident and independent. In order to be accepted into the Royal New Zealand Police College you must meet their selection criteria which includes being over 18 years, being able to pass a police check, and having a full drivers licence. You may be required to complete literacy and numeracy assessments as part of this programme.

There are no academic requirements that need to be met to enter this programme.
International students: English language entry requirements
For the minimum English language requirements refer to the requirements set out in the NZQF Programme and Accreditation Rules.
International students will generally be required to provide evidence of English language proficiency, for this programme an IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 is required. Equivalent acceptable evidence can be seen at the following NZQA link.
