About the course
Complete your Master of Professional Accounting in 12 Months. The Master of Professional Accounting (MPACC) is designed for people who want to start a career in accounting or build on existing business or professional experience. Over three Semesters, you will develop accounting expertise, business analytics skills, and knowledge of artificial intelligence in business. You'll also strengthen your decision-making, communication, and professional capabilities. Gain practical experience through an internship and industry-focused projects. Graduate ready to apply your skills in real workplace settings. This programme is also your pathway to CPA Australia and CA ANZ provisional membership. It meets the academic requirements for provisional membership with both bodies.

Domestic students
Academic requirements
You must have completed at least one of the following:
- A recognised bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline with merit achievement deemed to be a grade average of B- or higher; Or
- A professional qualification in a relevant discipline, recognised as being equivalent to merit achievement in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Or
- Provide sufficient evidence of aptitude or appropriate work or other life experience that would indicate a successful outcome in the qualification (only if you are 20 years or older)
And meet one of the English entry requirements:
- University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or Māori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
- Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.

And English entry requirements;
If English is not your first language, you will also need at least one of the following qualifications:
- Evidence of an IELTS (Academic) band score of at least 6.5 with no band score lower than 6
- University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or Māori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
- Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.
