Launch it – School to Work
Course details
About the course
MAST Academy’s Launch it– School to Work programme offers Year 12 and 13 students a chance to explore trade careers in the marine, composites and industrial textiles industries, while earning credits towards their NCEA.
MAST matches you with an employer where you'll typically work one or two days a week (whatever suits you, your school, and the employer), getting hands-on experience in a real workplace, building industry connections, and earning credits towards your NCEA – all at the same time.
We co-ordinate with you and your school careers advisors to find the right employer match and create your personalized learning plan, staying in touch throughout the programme to provide mentoring and support to both you and your employer. We'll assess your work, report your credits to NZQA, and keep your school in the loop so everyone's on the same page about your progress.
This programme is an opportunity to explore a career, develop skills, connect with the marine and specialised industries and potentially secure employment or an apprenticeship. Contact your school careers advisor or the MAST Pathways Consultant to learn more.
