New Zealand Certificate in Composites (Level 3)
New Zealand Certificate in Composites (Level 4)
Composites are high-tech materials made by combining two or more elements – like carbon fibre and resins – to create something stronger than the sum of its parts. Think of it as teamwork at a molecular level. Composites are everywhere – in cars, sports gear, buildings, high-performance yachts and even rockets.
A career in composites is exciting because you’ll work with cutting-edge materials like carbon fibre that make the impossible possible. You’ll get hands-on experience shaping and building products that are strong, lightweight, durable and built to last. Composites are used in marine vessels, aerospace, renewable energy, and more – so your skills open doors to incredible opportunities around the world.
It’s hands-on, high-tech work that combines skill with innovation. As materials science evolves, composites remain at the cutting edge of technology, shaping the future of marine vessels, aerospace, renewable energy and infrastructure. If you love making things, solving challenges and working with advanced materials, training as a composites technician is your chance to be part of this exciting, future-focused industry.
There are two pathways:
• Level 3: Entry-level certificate that can lead into Level 4 apprenticeship training
• Level 4: Full apprenticeship (you may be eligible for direct entry)
