Certificate in Fashion
NZQF Level 4

About the course

This certificate is your stepping stone - turning those style ideas in your head into actual clothes you can wear.

For 18 weeks, you'll be hands-on in the studio. In Technical Skills and Processes, you'll get to grips with sewing machines, create patterns, and learn how to put garments together properly.

It's not just about making clothes; it's about empowering you to make them safely and to industry standards.

Then there's Creative Fashion Design Concepts and Construction.

Here's where you let your imagination loose, but with a practical twist. You’ll dive into the history of fashion, develop your own design style, and learn how to choose the right fabrics for your designs. By the end, you'll have designed and made your own outfit.

Throughout the course, you'll be building a body of work that shows off your new skills. It's not just about what you've made, but how you've made it - from first sketch to last stitch.

This certificate is perfect if you're keen to get your foot in the fashion industry door or if you're thinking about further study in design. You'll come away with real, usable skills and a solid understanding of how the fashion world works
