About the course
Te Pōkaitahi Reo Māori (Reo Rua) [Kaupae 2] | NZ Certificate in Te Reo Māori [Level 2] is designed to provide ākonga with the language skills required to communicate, with little support, in familiar everyday contexts and in Māori environments where you feel comfortable.
Successful completion of this certificate allows you to enrol in Te Pōkaitahi Reo Māori (Reo Rua) [Kaupae 3] the following semester/year.

- Beginners [Level 2] Te Reo Māori
- Māori and marae activities (includes noho marae)
- Class-based activities
Full-time study day classes, 9.00am-3.00 pm, Monday to Thursday.
Part-time study one weekly night class and three weekend wānanga (Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti only).

This is an open entry programme which means no formal qualifications are required. You must be aged 16 or over and you are required to have a reasonable reading level in order to cope with the programme and to carry out written instruction.
A personal interview may be part of the application process.
*This course is not available to international students.
