About the course

The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Applied) (Level 3) is a 16-week programme designed to develop learners’ English proficiency for academic, community, and workplace settings in New Zealand. Delivered by Seafield School of English, the course focuses on applied language use, strengthening skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Learners attend 20 contact hours per week in classes capped at a maximum of 25 students, ensuring personalised attention and an engaging learning environment. Graduates will be equipped to understand and communicate using moderately complex language, and may progress to NZCEL Level 4 (Academic), a recognised pathway into Level 5, 6, and 7 tertiary programmes.
