What you will learn
This programme is designed for experienced automotive engineering technicians who want to work in an advanced technical role, specialising in electric vehicles. You’ll learn:
Automotive Management (10 credits)
- Learn how to oversee team responsibilities, including compliance.
Drive Systems (15 credits)
- Learn to diagnose, analyse and repair uncommon and complex electric vehicle drive system faults to meet industry standards.
Energy Supply Systems (15 credits)
- Learn to diagnose, analyse and repair uncommon and complex electric vehicle energy supply system faults to meet industry standards.
High Voltage Auxiliary Systems (15 credits)
- Learn to diagnose and analyse uncommon or complex electric vehicle sub-system faults to meet industry standards.
Electric Vehicle High Voltage System Repairs (15 credits)
- Learn to repair uncommon or complex electric vehicle drive systems, energy supply systems, and sub-system faults to meet industry standards.
- Learn new skills with insulation testing and analysing milli ohms.
Entry requirements
- An Automotive Engineering qualification at Level 4, or equivalent skills and knowledge, including automotive electrical diagnostic experience to a Level 4 standard and a sound understanding of basic electrical systems and the fundamentals of electricity.
- A current workplace first aid certificate is recommended.
