Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 5)

About the course

Designed in consultation with industry, this programme will provide experienced heavy vehicle automotive technicians with the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively carry out complex system fault diagnostics on heavy vehicles or machines and facilitate the repairs.Programme OutlineThe training programme includes a mix of practical training and assessment, undertaken in the workplace, and eLearning, allowing you to complete theory elements of the programme at your own pace. You will have access to videos, interactive simulations and theory assessments, which can be easily accessed at any time and from any device – mobile phone, tablet or PC.

Oversee team responsibilities and ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements to maintain a safe and effective workplace. Apply advanced technical skills and operational knowledge to diagnose complex system faults in heavy vehicles or machines. Determine repair solutions and monitor and control the repairs of complex system faults in heavy vehicles or machines. Undertake cause and effect analyses for heavy vehicle or machine component metal fatigue failure.
