About the course

The purpose of this qualification is to recognise individuals that have attained sufficient theoretical knowledge and operational skills required to safely operate as Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilots (also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).

Graduates will have achieved the theory components of the Civil Aviation Authority New Zealand (CAANZ) Private Pilot License. The qualification provides a standard method for recognising the knowledge and skills required of a UAV pilot, and establishes basic safety and competency standards to ensure aviation safety.
