About the course
Massey University’s Bachelor of Science with Honours is a prestigious qualification for those that are interested in progressing to further, in-depth research. This postgraduate qualification will also give you a career advantage.
Generally, the course consists of 75% taught courses and 25% supervised research.
As a separate qualification of advanced courses and research in the major subject taken in the BSc, the honours qualification can lead to a Master of Science by thesis only.

Admission to Massey
All students must meet university entrance requirements to be admitted to the University.
Specific requirements
To enter the Bachelor of Science (Honours) you will:
- have been awarded or qualified for a Bachelor of Science degree, or close equivalent, in the intended postgraduate subject area, with a minimum B+ average in the majoring 300 level courses, or
- have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor’s degree followed by a Graduate Diploma in Science and Technology or close equivalent, in the intended postgraduate subject area, with a minimum B+ average in the majoring 300 level courses.
You will need to provide copies of all official academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.

To study this qualification you must meet Massey's English language competency requirements.
Time limits for Honours, Distinction and Merit
Where your qualification is completed within the stated time limit and to a high standard, you may be able to graduate with a class of Honours, Distinction or Merit.
