About the course

The New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering Theory and Practice (Trade) is a 3+ year apprenticeship that combines on-the-job and on-campus learning. It provides an entry into the electrical industry and provides a pathway to apply to the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) for registration once they have been awarded the qualification.

Graduates will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and attributes to work independently as commercially competent electricians in the electrical industry in the field of their choice.

This qualification is being replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Trade (Level 4) -  General Electrical [4204] in late-2023.

NCEA 2 or equivalent experience
