Kiwikindy Internship

About the course

The Kiwikindy Internship Programme is part of the AEA TESOL Course, which provides students with an opportunity to experience working in a New Zealand Early Childhood Education Centre (ECE). Students spend time in an Auckland based ECE centre, where they interact with children, and see first hand how a Kiwi teacher delivers a class. The course length is flexible depending on the students.

Learn

  • Language (grammar, vocabulary) at your level
  • Skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) at your level
  • Strategies for improving your English


Experience

  • working in an authentic New Zealand preschool or kindergarten
  • communicating regularly in English with teachers and children
  • participating in preschool activities
  • observing and discussing the work of preschool teachers
  • assisting teachers and other staff

Course Length:

8 weeks English Language study + 4 weeks Kindergarten Internship

About the provider

Auckland English Academy (AEA) is an NZQA Category One accredited education provider under the umbrella of ICL Education Group, situated in the heart of the Auckland CBD, and is one of New Zealand’s oldest language schools, established in 1988.

AEA offers communication English programme for students who want to improve their English language level for different reasons such as traveling, working in an English-speaking country, preparing to progress to an academic course, communicating better with friends etc. Classes are run in daytime and evenings and offer students from all over the world classes tailored to their needs, in particular through an individual learning plan.

AEA also offers examination preparation courses such as IELTS and the Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic), and has for a long time been the largest IELTS preparation course provider in New Zealand. This is manifest in the large number of students who have achieved the scores they aimed for, paving the way for them to continue to pursue other life endeavors. A popular pathway is to progress to diplomas and master’s degrees offered by ICL after completing IELTS, PTE and NZCEL (New Zealand Certificate of English Language).
