About the course
Tap into the building boom! In just 19 weeks you’ll gain the skills you need to become an apprentice or labourer in construction or allied trades.
If you already have a bit of experience in the construction industry, or have a Level 1 or 2 pre-trade qualification, this programme is your perfect next step.
It’s fun, practical and workshop-based and is a great stepping stone to a career as a plasterer or painter.
*This course is also part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme. If you are aged 16-24, and meet the course entry requirements, you can attend this course for FREE. Limited seats available and only offered at our Auckland Trades and Trades West campuses.
Entry requirements
- Have completed a Level 2 NZQF qualification or equivalent or meet the minimum requirements of the NZMA Level 3 Placement Test.
- Applicants with English as a second language must demonstrate sufficiency in the English language at an interview.
- Applicants must be physically able to carry out the practical aspects of the programme by being able to work effectively, efficiently and safely in a simulated work environment which may involve working safely at heights and in confined spaces.
