About the course

If you are aged 16-24, and meet the course entry requirements, you can attend this course for FREE!

In this practical course, you’ll get to know yourself and discover a range of things you can study in the NZMA family. Over 16 weeks you’ll get to try out one or more of our most popular subjects (Hospitality, Cookery, Health and Sport). You’ll be busy working with your hands, doing projects and going on field trips instead of just sitting in a classroom.

In this course you’ll also meet others like you, learn about different cultures, visit a marae and get to visit some industry workplaces

Entry requirements

To enrol you will need to be: 

  • A NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • 16 years of age and over before the start of the course.*

*15 year olds who hold Ministry-approved early exemption from their school may also be eligible. This exemption must be in place before the course starts.
