About the course

Graduates of the Master of Teaching and Learning will be equipped as beginning teachers with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to teach diverse learners effectively in New Zealand schools and meet the New Zealand Teachers Council Graduating Teacher Standards. They will have a critical understanding of research based pedagogical approaches, learning theory and content knowledge to develop and use effective high leverage teaching practices. They will expect to engage in a continuous cycle of questioning, observing, acting, and learning. They will understand the nature of adaptive and responsive evidence-based practice to support learning for all students. In short, they will be competent, independent and responsible beginning professionals who will be highly sought after by schools.
