About the course
Are you wanting to learn Te Reo Māori while gaining an understanding of Tikanga Māori and the Treaty of Waitangi at the same time? Te Puāwai combines all these strands together in one course using a blend of both face to face tutorials and online learning make this course ideal for workers or anyone who would like to develop their knowledge of Te Ao Māori - the Māori world. Te Puāwai includes the study of introductory Te Reo, and an understanding of Tikanga, Māori Society and the historical and contemporary issues relating to the Treaty of Waitangi. Designed for absolute beginners, the course involves a mix of collaborative learning, group assessment and individual assignments.
