Do you want to learn more about the tikanga, whakapapa, and kaupapa associated with this traditional art form? Under the guidance of our expert tutors, you will get hands-on experience and learn a broad range of techniques and skills in this traditional Ngā Toi (Art). You will also learn to engage in the tikanga and traditions of whakairo. This course will give you the confidence and ability to help you fulfil your dreams of being a carver.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
- Select and apply creative processes, methods, and techniques to create solutions for familiar problems
- Compare the processes of others’ and explore artistic evolution and variation, to inform own art form practice
- Create and complete Ngā Toi projects, under broad guidance and in accordance with project briefs
- Manage project briefs, under broad guidance, to produce Ngā Toi work
