Overview

This programme aims to provide students with general construction and maintenance knowledge.
If you want to get into the building trade, or learn how to work on your home and land, this programme is a great starting point. Covering general construction and maintenance knowledge, it provides training across a wide range of construction and maintenance areas by giving you practical experience on small building projects.
What you will learn
You will learn wide range of construction and career skills. The development of literacy, numeracy and information technology is embedded and applied throughout the learning experience.
This programme gives you the chance to study in a supportive environment where you get the time and individual attention you need to achieve a level 2 qualification.
- Reading plans
- Drawing detailed project sketches
- Non-consent building of garden furniture or small sheds
- Safely use hand tools, power tools and machinery
- Knowledge of current building practices
- Be able to discuss the use of selected building materials
- Have knowledge of building calculations.
- Concrete preparation, mixing and laying
- Work collaboratively and effectively in a team or group to achieve a task or outcome
- Producing a CV (Curriculum Vitae)
- Budgeting skills
