This course is perfect if you're new to the primary sector, or wanting to get a range of work-ready skills.
Get a taste of agriculture in three major growth areas:
- Beekeeping (Apiculture)
- Fencing
- Pest Control
What you will learn
This programme focuses on general skills needed to work in primary industry. You will study a range of hands-on activities in each area including:
- Basic hive maintenance
- Installing fence posts
- Basic tractor skills
- Setting pest traps
- Practical beekeeping
- How to tie and strain wire
- Basic quad bike skills
- Safely laying pesticides
- Using a GPS and map
- Install and swing a gate
- Recognising pest signs
Students will also have the opportunity to gain practical workplace experience.
