Designed to meet the legal requirements for driving special wheeled vehicle, special vehicle fitted with rollers and special vehicle fitted with tracks on a road.

What you will learn

NZTA approved course and the following unit standards are attained:

16701: This unit standard meets the minimum requirements of the NZ Transport Agency for people who intend applying for a W (wheels) endorsement to their driver licence so they will become legally entitled to drive special-type wheeled vehicles on roads. People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe a special-type wheeled vehicle and the legal requirements relating to driving the vehicle on a road; describe driving procedures and general considerations for driving a special-type wheeled vehicle safely on a road; and demonstrate procedures for driving a special-type wheeled vehicle safely and legally on a road.

16702: This unit standard meets the minimum requirements of the NZ Transport Agency for people who intend applying for an R (rollers) endorsement to their driver licence so they will become legally entitled to drive special-type roller vehicles on roads. People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe a special-type roller vehicle and the legal requirements relating to driving the vehicle on a road; describe driving procedures and general considerations for driving a special-type roller vehicle safely on a road; and demonstrate procedures for driving a special-type roller vehicle safely and legally on a road.

16703: This unit standard meets the minimum requirements of the NZ Transport Agency for people who intend applying for a T (tracks) endorsement to their driver licence so they will become legally entitled to drive special-type tracked vehicles on roads. People credited with this unit standard are able to: Describe a special-type tracked vehicle and the legal requirements relating to driving the vehicle on a road; describe driving procedures and general considerations for driving a special-type   tracked vehicle safely on a road; and demonstrate procedures for driving a special-type tracked vehicle safely and legally on a road.
