HOW IT WORKS
It takes around 19 months to complete this programme.
Achievement is through on-job assessment, or through
Recognition of Current Competence (RCC). If you have
3 to 5 years of experience working in the industry, and
can provide a portfolio of evidence, then RCC could be an
option for you as it recognises your prior skills; allowing
you to get qualified within a shorter timeframe. Your local
Connexis Customer Service Account Manager (CSAM), and
your employer, work together to support and guide you from
sign up to completion.
Entry requirements
It is recommended you hold the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 3) or demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge. You must be employed in the industry and be exposed to the relevant experience to gain this qualification.

We are passionate about creating a sustainable infrastructure workforce for Aotearoa, which responds to the needs of industry, both now and in the future. This includes improving access to training and encouraging diversity to reach underrepresented groups such as women, Māori, and Pasifika.
We are the infrastructure business division of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology. Te Pūkenga is the new Crown entity established to unite Institutes of Technology, Polytechnics (ITPs) and Industry Training Organisations around the country into a unified national network as part of the Government’s Reform of Vocational Education. It is creating a network of on-job, online and on-campus learning to give learners more flexibility in what, where and how they learn.
