Master of Food Innovation

About the course

A graduate of the Master of Food Innovation will be able to: Serve as a champion for innovation in a food industry business with the ability to plan, execute and manage a portfolio of projects to add value to the business. Communicate effectively and collaborate with peers and food industry business colleagues including colleagues in manufacturing, engineering, finance and marketing. Integrate all aspects of the value chain of fresh and manufactured food products to develop and implement strategies for product development and create structures for an innovative culture. Utilise risk management techniques to identify and manage hazards to food safety, quality and cost associated with innovation. Solve complicated problems through use of analytical and quantitative skills in all aspects of product and business development. Use analytical skills to understand consumer behaviour, regulatory requirements and business context to identify opportunities for innovation and adding of value to food business.

Entry requirements

Candidates for the Master of Food Innovation shall have either (1) a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science with Honours, a Bachelor of Technology degree or equivalent, or (2) a Post Graduate-Diploma in the same majoring areas completed after an appropriate three year degree. Students should also have approved employment in a food company or organisation wishing to sponsor the candidate through the graduate program and willing to provide both mentorship and a well-supported project within the organisation.
