About the course

Graduates will have a breadth of knowledge across several disciplines and advanced knowledge in at least two approved teaching subjects. In addition they will have well developed pedagogical knowledge and practical experience of educational contexts. Graduates will be well prepared for entering the teaching profession (at primary or secondary level) and qualified to teach to the objectives in the National Curriculum in both primary and secondary schools. Postgraduate study opportunities include a Postgraduate Certificate / Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Professional Development (60/120 credits by course work), leading to a Master of Education (120-credit thesis).

A New Zealand university entrance qualification or equivalent and the good character and fitness-to-teach requirements of the NZ Teachers Council
