About the course

Graduates will have acquired basic knowledge and skills for use in the organic horticulture industry. Graduates should be able to demonstrate: Environmental sustainability; Plantings to enhance beneficial organisms; pollinating insects; biological control organisms; native bird populations & bees; Tikanga Maori; Organic growing philosophy, history & principles; Organic soil management & composting; Factors which influence plant growth; Management of pests, diseases, disorders & weeds in organic systems; Integrated pest management; Organic design systems including permaculture.
