About the course

Trim Up - School to Work

TrimUp® offers secondary school students the chance to earn a micro-credential approved by NZQA, credits towards NCEA, and a great introduction to the industrial textile fabrication industry. This industry fabricates a variety of industrial textile products, from tents and vehicle upholstery to shade sails and inflatable boats.

Supported by MAST Academy, in partnership with secondary schools and local businesses, TrimUp® has both eLearning and practical workplace learning. Completed unit standards can be used towards the next step in the MAST apprenticeship in the industrial textile fabrication industry.

On completion students will achieve the TrimUp® - Industrial Textile Fabrication Micro-credential (Level 2, 12 credits), which will be listed on their NZQA Record of Achievement.

Modules within this programme include:

Workplace Health and Safety Practices, Workplace Organisational Procedures.

MAST Academy apprenticeship, leading to a New Zealand Certificate.

  Entry Requirements

Legal eligibility to study in NZ (immigration status verified). Employed in an appropriate workplace. Minimum of 16 years of age. English language requirements.


  Course Fees

This programme is NOT covered by TTAF.

Cost to school – $200 total.
