About the course
Study towards a Chief Mate Yacht or Master Yacht certificate of competencyIf you're already working as yacht crew in the superyacht industry, this qualification will give you the training you need to take the next step and become a Chief Mate or Master.Holders of this qualification will have the skills, knowledge and experience required to work in a watchkeeping and/or command position at management level on a yacht over 24 metres and up to 3000GT. This qualification combined with sea time and Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) requirements leads to a MNZ certificate: Chief Mate Yacht certificate of competency Master Yacht certificate of competency Master Yacht less than 500 gross tonnage (Master Yacht <500 GT) certificate of competency
