About the course
Qualification overview This qualification is designed for people who are entering the youth development sector as youth workers while also providing a credential that recognises the skills, knowledge and competencies of those already employed in the industry. In addition, the qualification is suitable for people seeking professional development opportunities with a youth development focus within a health and wellbeing or social services setting. Graduates will be able to work within a framework of youth development practice that is informed by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Youth Work Codes of Ethics, the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa, the nine Core Competencies for youth workers, and legislative requirements.
