About the course
This programme will develop students' knowledge, skills and abilities in order to gain entry level employment as Process Operators in the oil and gas and chemical processing industries. It has been designed with considerable input from the Petroleum Skills Association (PSA) and is highly 'industry based', with a significant amount of industry sponsored work placement built into it. Students have the opportunity to enhance knowledge and develop the skills to effectively operate oil and gas handling equipment in real work settings and to have exposure to all facets of the local industry.
Entry requirements
Four years secondary education; 32+ credits including 8+ NCEA L1 English, and 12+ NCEA L2 Maths and 12+ NCEA L2 Science, Computing; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Technology; OR equivalent NQF units; OR National Certificate/Trade Qualification in relevant field at L4+; OR equivalent. IELTS 5.5, Drug test, two references, Police check, panel interview.
