About the course

Graduate outcomes are: A functional level of fluency in conversational Maori both oral and written; A good ability to use minimihi in a variety of situations; A basic knowledge and application of whaikorero and karanga; The ability to perform a range of selected Taranaki waiata, ngeri, whakatauki and karakia in the correct context; A competent understanding and application of selected Taranaki tikanga; An appreciation of and developing skills in analysis of Maori literature

Entry requirements

Entry to Year One is open. Students must have a stated desire and commitment to learning te reo Maori in a wananga learning environment. Entry to Year Two of the qualification is restricted to those who have completed Year One, or who have similar qualifications and/or previous knowledge
