The Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology (PGCertIT) programme has been designed to produce IT post graduates who are able to think critically and have a number of high level skills in the IT field that can be applied in a wide range of situations. This diploma will also introduce you to research in IT.
As a graduate of the PGCertIT you’ll have an understanding of the broad conceptual and theoretical elements involved in the IT arena.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology (PGCertIT) is a Level 8, 60 credit programme that provides those who wish to study at postgraduate level in information technology with a qualification that can be achieved part-time while still engaged in the workforce.
The PGCertIT programme has been designed to produce IT graduates who are able to think critically and have a number of high-level skills in IT field that can be applied in a wide range of situations.
As a graduate of the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology you will:
- Have a proficiency of a body of knowledge, including an understanding of specialised conceptual and theoretical elements, in a functional domain of Information and Communications Technology.
- Be able to solve complex applied computing problems commonly faced in the information technology workplace.
- Recognise when information is needed and have the capacity to locate, evaluate and use this information effectively and efficiently.
- To communicate knowledge, ideas, recommendations and decisions.
- Possess values and attitudes consistent with their roles as responsible citizens and members of their professional communities as demonstrated by a desire for life-long learning.
