About the course
Learn to create your own professional marketing and promotional materials using Adobe Suite design software.
Entry requirements
- This short course is open to domestic students and international students (who are currently based in New Zealand).
- A sound level of computer skills are required.
- Previous MAC experience will be an advantage but is not essential.
Course content
Graphic Design is complex and involves technical design know-how and understanding of a range of design tools. This course will introduce some core graphic design principles and the use of Adobe design software tools.
The first part of the course introduces technical graphic design terms including colour management, file formats and pixels/vectors. You will also get hands-on with the basic functions of Photoshop and InDesign.
As a final output, you will be given a design challenge and one-to-one support to create your own print material such as a poster, postcard and/or a business card.

Please bring along some digital images on a USB in PDF and/or JPEG format to use for your own design.
