About the course
Conveyancing is no longer a career just for lawyers! Turn your interest in property and land law into a conveyancing career. We are the only New Zealand provider authorised to offer this unique qualification. A few years ago conveyancing as a separate profession in New Zealand didn't exist. Then along came a law change which opened up this exciting new legal profession. This diploma meets the requirements set by the New Zealand Society of Conveyancers and it enables graduates to specialise in the legal field involved in the transfer of residential and commercial property. The programme provides an understanding of the laws and systems governing property, land, finance, commerce and contracts. You can also develop skills in the administration of estates.

Entry requirements
If you are under 20 years of age, you must meet the following criteria to gain entry into this programme:
Year 12 School Leavers/Year 12 qualifications:
Fifty (50) credits at Level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in Mathematics, English and one other subject, including a minimum of eight literacy credits at Level 2 or higher in English or te reo Māori; four credits must be in reading and four credits must be in writing. The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved achievement standards and unit standards.
Year 13 School Leavers/Year 13 qualifications:
A minimum of 42 credits at Level 3 or higher on the National Qualifications Framework, including a minimum of 14 credits at Level 3 or higher in each of two subjects; and 12 credits in Mathematics at Level 2 or higher; four credits at Level 2 or above in Reading; and four credits at Level 2 or above in Writing. If you are over 20 years of age, there are no entry requirements. Special AdmissionIf you do not meet the academic requirements you may be given special admission if Toi Ohomai staff are satisfied you are capable of successfully completing the requirements. If you don't meet the entry requirements, Toi Ohomai offers foundation and bridging programmes - take a look at our New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4). Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology reserves the right to vary the entry requirements for entry into the New Zealand Diploma in Conveyancing programme after consultation with the New Zealand Society of Conveyancers.
