About the course
This computing course gives you a basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, applications and networks so you can get your IT career off to a strong start. You'll learn about the main components of a computer; the way they interact; their assembly, disassembly and maintenance; how to troubleshoot common problems; various operating systems; end-user security; and internet-based services. You'll also complete an introduction to computational thinking and basic programming. The New Zealand Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User) (Level 3), appropriate assessments in Digital Technologies Level 2, OR equivalent skills and knowledge
