About the course
Engineering firms need more people with up to date Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills. Use this introductory part-time course to upskill and broaden your employment options. You'll complete most of the course online, coming in for just 8 night classes over the 15 weeks. The course introduces you to the skills you need to produce high quality mechanical assemblies in 3D, parts modelling and drawing production. You'll learn to use SolidWorks software to create simple engineering drawings and three dimensional engineering models. SolidWorks is a user-friendly programme – you'll quickly learn the basics and start practising your new drawing skills. The course fee includes a Student Design Kit package that you can install at home and use on your own computer for 12 months. Please note: SolidWorks is a Windows based program and can only be installed on a PC or Laptop running a Windows operating system. It is incompatible with devices running other operating systems.
