About the course
This course is designed for people already working in the electrical industry.
New Zealand is crying out for more electrical service technicians to repair faulty appliances. This evening course will suit you if you're already working in the electrical industry and want to gain a qualification.
It's both theoretical and practical with an emphasis on safety, measurement techniques and safe working practices.
In-class delivery will be over 24 weeks, with weekly three-hour night classes.
Learn to service and install large appliances like commercial refrigeration units, air conditioners and three-phase electrical equipment. This course focuses on the maintenance, disconnection and reconnection of single phase and three-phase electrical appliances supplied by flexible cord or fixed-wired up to 460 volts.
You'll also be required to complete a theory examination through EWRB ASPEQ. This examination will be paid for separately from this course.
Upon successfully completing the requirements you'll receive:
- The Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Electrical Service Technician practical assessment
