About the course
Get the health and safety skills and knowledge to meet workplace health and safety requirements. You will gain enhanced knowledge of the health and safety requirements and responsibilities associated with your workplace.

This qualification is intended for people who are intending to work, or working within a New Zealand workplace.

This qualification leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4).
Entry Requirements
You must hold a current First Aid Certificate that includes Unit Standards 6400, 6401 and 6402.
All applicants must:

Be at least 17 years old at the time the programme commences

Be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level

Be physically able to complete the programme specific outcomes
English language requirement
All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Applicants for whom English is not a first language, must have an IELTS score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 or an accepted international equivalence.
Courses in this programme
The New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 3) is awarded when students have achieved 40 credits offered in the programme of study.
