About the course
Now is the time to future-proof your career with our 32-week Diploma in Cloud Engineering which will prepare you to tackle complex cloud-based projects in the real world.
You’ll learn to design and build a scalable and reliable cloud-based solution that will test your problem-solving skills and build your working knowledge of network infrastructure and security.
We believe in learning by doing, so you’ll spend less time on theory and more time working in a team on relevant and stimulating assignments.
This includes mastering advanced technologies in cloud infrastructure, multi-vendor scenarios, risk assessment processes to configuring advanced server services and operating a private cloud. You’ll study a wide range of modules from Cloud management tools, Cloud security, isolation and migration to multi-vendor, open source integration and support and scripting techniques to creating a cloud infrastructure in a IaaS environment.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll learn:
- Carry out advanced techniques to migrate and manage directory and authentication services within a cloud environment.
- Assess risks for security in a cloud environment and use specialised knowledge to implement and manage multi tenancy.
- Apply advanced knowledge to configure a hybrid cloud environment.
- Develop advanced level scripting to support complex autonomous and flexible environments.
- Research and apply design concepts to implement and configure a platform to support a multi-vendor cloud scenario.
Entry requirements
Students who enrol in the online programme will need access to a computer with prescribed basic hardware requirements as per marketing material, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection.
Domestic Students:
- 17yrs+
- Applicants must have successfully completed the New Zealand Diploma in System Administration (Level 6) or equivalent or have relevant trade experience.
International Students:
- 18yrs+
- English language competency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 Academic with no band less than 5.5.
- Applicants must have successfully completed the New Zealand Diploma in System Administration (Level 6) or equivalent or have relevant trade experience.
