About the course

If you’re a business owner, manager, team leader or employee wanting to improve your leadership skills, this programme is for you. 

The NZ Certificate in Business Level 3 is an introductory leadership programme that will give you the skills and knowledge to lead a team effectively. As the workplace becomes more diverse, this programme will help you understand and manage the challenges of operating in the modern workplace. 

Upon successful completion of this programme, you will receive the following qualification:

  • NZ Certificate in Business (Introduction to Team Leadership) Level 3

You’ll learn about:

  • different leadership styles
  • principles for effective team performance
  • problem solving and decision making
  • professional and ethical behaviour
  • legislation and policies for conduct.

Entry requirements

To enrol in this programme, a potential student must:

  • be at least 16 years of age 
  • be a New Zealand citizen (or citizen of Australia, Tokelau, Niue, Cook Islands) or permanent resident 
  • be a graduate of a Level 2 business qualification (or higher) or demonstrate competence in a literacy exercise that reflects the comprehension and writing abilities for the programme 
  • attend an information session and an enrolment interview.
