About the course
The NZDEP is designed for electrical engineering technicians working in the Infrastructure Industry. It is also ideal for power technicians and design project managers who are looking to take the next step in their career.
This qualification puts the theory learnt through completion of the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (NZDE) into practice, allowing graduates to gain on-job experience in engineering.
The candidate could be working in one of the following areas (not limited to): engineering consultancy, maintenance or asset management, design, manufacturing, installation, production engineering, technical sales and customer service, draughting services, construction or contracting.
Entry requirements
To enrol in this programme you must be employed in the
electricity supply industry. You must also hold the New
Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Level 6) or equivalent
as approved by the New Zealand Board for Engineering
Diplomas. A minimum of three years’ experience of relevant
work is required to ensure candidates have sufficient on-job
skills to meet the requirements of the programme.
