New Zealand Apprenticeship in Electricity Supply (Transmission Line Maintenance) with strands in Line Mechanic, and Structure Maintenance (Level 4)

The apprenticeship programme is designed to provide the electricity supply industry with people able to work in transmission line maintenance as a line mechanic or structure maintainer.

Plan work and apply health and safety requirements and industry standards when carrying out work as a transmission line maintenance worker, while taking responsibility for the work and safety of others. Graduates of the Line Mechanics strand will also be able to apply codes of practice, industry standards and operating procedures when carrying out maintenance of transmission lines. Graduates of the Structure Maintenance strand will also be able to apply codes of practice, industry standards and operating procedures when carrying out maintenance of transmission tower structures.
