Advanced Full Stack Developer (Cloud & AI) Accelerator

About the course

Are you interested in solving real-world business and community problems with the power of mobile and web?  You’ll learn how to create and deploy enterprise-level mobile-first web applications and be a confident problem solver using code.  If you are a hands-on creator and enjoy making, testing and seeing your creations come to life, then a career in software development is for you. 

Programme Coverage and Duration
Level 5: Cloud & AI Developer (10 weeks, NZQA accredited)

You can start from this stage if you have prior coding knowledge or if you completed the Full Stack Development stage.

In this stage, you will be learning all the hot skills that employers are looking for, and getting you ready for real work experience.  By the end of this stage, you will be able to solve complex enterprise-level problems using Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, and DevOps practices.

In these 10 weeks, you will learn:

  • Create applications using Cloud and Artificial Intelligence
  • Automate deployment with DevOps tools
  • Understanding of software architecture
  • Work in cross-functional Agile team effectively
  • Present yourself online, on CV, and in interview
  • Learn new tech skills quickly
  • Unit testing
  • How to present yourself in your CV, online, and in interviews
  • To work in a project team
You will learn by joining sessions that explain how to solve enterprise-level technical problems and give challenges for you to complete.  Some group work will be involved.


When you successfully complete the 10 weeks, you will be awarded an NZQA-Approved Certificate in Technology Product Solutions (Level 5, 40 credits), and be ready for Mentored Industry Learning Experience.

Level 6: Mentored Industry Learning Experience (10 weeks, NZQA accredited)

You would have completed the Cloud and AI accelerator stage before you can join the Mentored Industry Learning Experience stage. In this stage, you are going to be immersed in real projects with real companies.  These companies are from trusted Mission Ready business partners, such as Datacom, Auckland Council, and some small to medium-sized businesses and for-impact organisations.  You will be mentored by experienced professionals. In these 10 weeks, you will gain:

  • Job interviewing Skills

Entry requirements

Applicants must have the legal right to study in New Zealand and either:

  • have completed the Certificate in Technology Product Development Essentials (Level 4) Training Scheme, or
  • provide evidence of an equivalent qualification and/or experience.

If English is not your first language, you must provide:

  • New Zealand University Entrance, or
  • Overall Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band score lower than 5.0 (achieved in one test completed in the last two years), or
  • Acceptable alternative evidence of the required IELTS (see here for NZQA proficiency table and here for a list of recognised proficiency tests).

Mentorship & work experience‍

Employers want people with prior work experience. Our unique mentored work experiences pairs candidates with mentors from our 220+ industry partners. These mentors offer guidance, feedback, and insights from their own experiences. Candidates can list this work experience in their CV and LinkedIn profiles, and often our mentors also agree to be a reference during the job search phase.
